Antonio Aguilar Barraza (1919 –2007) was a Mexican singer, actor, songwriter, equestrian, film producer, and screenwriter. He was known for his variety of music styles such as rancheras, corridos, mariachi and tambora. This song tells the story of a lost love, and then embarking on a trip to a new land where hope is still alive, but also with the thought of returning home to find someone awaiting him.
